The MIT Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Laboratory (CSAIL) The MIT Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Laboratory (CSAIL) was formed a few years ago as a result of the merger between the Artificial Intelligence Lab and the Laboratory for Computer Science. The merge of these two distinct departments created the largest interdepartmental laboratory on the MIT campus, joining faculty members and principal investigators from several academic departments.
